Maintenance Plans for WordPress Sites

Review your host and the hosting plans for the following information. Below are recommended hosting requirements.

Your server must have a minimum of the following requirements to install and work with the standard theme Fat Dog Creatives uses without any issues.

• PHP version 7.0 or greater
• MySQL version 5.6 or greater
• HTTPS support

By default the standard theme Fat Dog Creatives uses works fine on most of the servers; however, if the site requires many plugins and elements that demand high-system resource on the site and cause any performance issue hosts may need the following:

• Set max_input_vars to 5000 and memory_limit to 256M.
• Max_execution_time = 30
• Max_input_time = 60
• Post_max_size = 32M
• Upload_max_filesize = 32M
• Max_input_time = 60

How to find the server info?

Your hosting support should be able to answer the following:

• PHP version
• MySQL version
• HTTPS support
• Plug-in method by using WordPress phpinfo()
  Manually upload the PHP info file

Protecting your site’s content is crucial. Server, plugin, and theme bugs can happen without warning. Maintenance plans include monthly full website backups stored off-site (stored on another server separate from the site host) and plugin and theme updates. Additional services are outlined in each package.

You plan may include:

• Regular full website backups
• Backup files are stored on another server separate from the site host.
• Automatic WordPress core software and WordPress standard security updates
• Plugin updates and review
• Theme updates and review
• Block frequent attackers by IP address, serial IP addresses (strings), and countries. This premium software allows Real-Time Threat Defense Feed, Premium Support, check if site is Spamvertized, check if site IP is generating spam, two-factor authentication, and automated frequent & scheduled scans.

This plan does not include email plans or email support, malware software, or eCommerce or other advanced website features.

Consider the following options for your site and scope of work:

• Forms: how many, with or without file upload feature
• Stock images: existing stock and/or need new images
• On-page SEO: Media Alt tags, descriptions, and file names, caching and image optimization plugins

Email Migration & Setup
If you‘re moving to a new email host, you’ll need someone on-site who can archive old emails and setup the new account(s).
