My Trusted Toolbelt of Resources
I believe in transparency. These are the tools I use to keep Fat Dog Creatives (and my clients) running like a well-oiled machine:
The Origin Story: From "Big Chief" Tablets to the "Squeezador"
My career in design started on a living room floor in 1983 with a fat pencil and a Big Chief tablet. At nine years old, I "invented" the Squeezador—a limousine that could shrink into a compact car for easy parking. You might know it today as the Smart Car. I’m still waiting on my royalty checks, but the experience taught me one thing: I’ve always been obsessed with solving problems before they exist.
Fast forward through a Communications degree, a decade of "military spouse" life—moving from Bethesda to Seattle and back to my beloved Texas—and I realized that most business owners are driving "Long Family Cars" (clunky, outdated websites) that need to be "Squeezed" into high-performing, mobile-friendly marketing machines.
Why Fat Dog Creatives
People ask about the name. Is it a commentary on my diet? My fitness goals? No.
It’s an homage to my 17-year-old pup, Zacky (who was, admittedly, a bit "sturdy"), and a nod to that Friends episode where Monica’s nickname was "Big Fat Goalie." I wanted a name that sounded like a person you’d actually want to grab a beer with at The Pearl or a coffee in Boerne. Fat Dog Creatives is professional, but we don't wear ties. We’re easy to work with, we’re happy to be here, and we’ve been doing this since 2003.
The Fat Dog Philosophy
Most web designers treat a website like a brochure. I treat it like a Sales Funnel.
Why San Antonio Businesses Trust Fat Dog
I’m not just a freelancer; I’m a strategist. I’m not design for clients in New Braunfels, Boerne, or Spring Branch, I’ve also served as adjunct faculty member teaching UX/UI design for a local bootcamp and design and layout at the Art Institute of San Antonio.
I don't just "make things pretty." I help executives-turned-entrepreneurs in Cibolo, Schertz, and Bulverde stop talking like corporate robots and start connecting with humans.
