How to make your website or landing page convert more visitors into leads and into clients.

To optimize conversions on WordPress websites and landing pages, I keep in mind the principle of providing value before asking for anything in return. Here’s a step-by-step process along with ideal plugins to achieve this:

Step-by-Step Process:

Understand the Audience: Start by deeply understanding the target audience’s needs, pain points, and motivations, including interviewing and surveys to gather insights.

Create Compelling Content:

  • Content Strategy: Develop high-quality, valuable content aligned with the audience’s interests and needs.
  • Freebie Creation: Following advice from Amy Porterfield and Marie Forleo, create a valuable freebie (e.g., eBook, checklist, quiz) that addresses a specific pain point or solves a common problem your audience faces.

Landing Page Design:

  • WordPress Landing Page Plugins: Use plugins like Beaver Builder or Elementor Pro for easy drag-and-drop page building.
  • Design Principles: Ensure the landing page design is clean, visually appealing, and focused on conversion (clear call-to-action, minimal distractions).

Optimize for Conversions:

  • Lead Capture Form: Place the lead capture form prominently on the landing page, preferably above the fold.
  • A/B Testing: Experiment with different elements (headlines, images, CTA buttons) to find the highest converting version.

Follow-Up Strategy:

  • Email Marketing Integration: Integrate with email marketing tools (e.g., Mailchimp, ConvertKit, Groundhogg, Hubspot, Fluent CRM) to automate follow-up sequences.

Monitor and Analyze:

  • Analytics: Continuously monitor conversion rates using plugin-specific analytics to identify areas for improvement. (Heatmaps and Session Recording: Use tools like Hotjar to understand how users interact with your landing page and make data-driven adjustments.)

Give, Give, Give, and Ask

By focusing on these strategies and utilizing the recommended plugins, WordPress websites can effectively increase conversion rates by providing valuable content upfront and guiding users towards taking desired actions, all while maintaining a user-friendly experience. This approach aligns with the philosophy of “Give, give, give, then ask,” ensuring that users feel they are receiving genuine value before being asked for anything in return.

Cyber Bullying, The Monster in the Comments

March 31, 2018

Cyberbullying does not exclusively target individuals. Businesses can also be the targets. In 2017, a tow truck operator sued the creator of a Facebook page that claimed to be a public service announcement regarding allegedly fraudulent conduct of the tow truck operator. (Thanks to Todd Brogowski at Todd’s Written Word, LLC for assisting me on this writing project to address this important topic.)

The original logo and concept are clever with the shape of the elephant’s face, changing directions at the trunk and tusks. However, there are three reasons why this clever logo wasn’t working as effectively as it should.
